Veteran fighter Rab Burt leaving Scotland with a bang

Referees can mean mug too y'know

If you have been to any Muay Thai event in Scotland, you have probably seen Rab Burt. Not only is he a true veteran of the fight game up here in Scotland, but he has also turned his hand to commentating, coaching and even refereeing. Sadly, it has been announced that Rab is emigrating to Australia in 2012 but he has decided to have one or two more fights before he leaves Scotland.

He has been matched at 69kg (152lbs) against the very tough John Douglas at Grangemouth Town Hall on the 17th of September. Base Muay Thai are promoting the event and believe this "could be the best domestic fight in Scotland this year". Base are known for putting on consistently solid cards with great matchmaking and are always very popular. The addition of what could well be Rab Burt's final fight in Scotland means this will probably sell out fast.

I will update when the poster and ticket information is available but if any coaches reading have fighters they would like to put forward for the show, promoter and Base Muay Thai gym owner Bobby Quinn can be reached via e-mail - bobbyquinn50@hotmail.com
